i Give thanks...

I give thanks for this semester being over and me being able to survive it. Thank God everything is done and all that is left are two little finals test that i know i'm gonna ace. This semester was very busy, and tirying. I thank God an infinite amout of times because me and my fellow classmates were able to get throught it. Even though we had our ups and down, stress and hair pulling moments we made it and now there's only one semester left before we finlly embarc on the new experience that awaits us, college.

Analysis Paragraph

Cats have a very known problem by everyone. Hairballs invade cats throat very often and it is very hard to  resist  them appearing. The problem of hairballs that have already formed in cat’s fur can be solved by proper brushing. In order to brush your cat’s hairballs, you’ll need two kinds of brushes: a wide-teeth wipe and a metallic one. The former will  possibly help you dissolve and, partially, remove tightly knotted hairballs without causing any pain or discomfort to your cat.both brushing sessions should have a duration period of aproximatly twenty minutes each. Whith brushing this will eventually remove excess of loose fluffy hair and decreasing  the possibility of it happening again the next day. Once brushing is over, make sure to polish your cat’s fur all over his body with the help of a clean, cotton, or woolen cloth.

School's almost over

During the last few days i've been pondering on the fact that school is almost over and the quaint reality hit me about me going to college. I've been imploring to God that my grades come out good this semester beacuse this is the semester that counts for our college applications. I can't wait to get out of school and leave behind some of my incompetent teachers and classmates. Although I am thinking about next year and how insensible my teacher will be bombing me and my classmates with extreme projects and test so that we have the right amount of grades at the end of the semester.

College Students

Many college students face a number of pressures. For instance, many students have to manage a job while at the same time balancing their enormous amount of  school work. This can be immensely stressful for a college student. Students also face many financial pressures. For example, numerous students have to pay for their college studies on their own. This gives them no other alternative but to procure student loans. Which will take many years to recover from debt. Another example of financial pressures for students is having to support a family while attending college. Supporting a family while attending college can be extremely difficult. Finally, many college students go to college in different cities and states and have to make new friends and adjust to a different atmosphere. Therefor, they have to learn how to cherish new people and how to be accompanied by new people. In conclusion, being a college student can be very rewarding but, there may also be a lot of pressures that need to be dealt with.

Life come at you fast.

Who would have though that my fellow classmates and I would be filling out college applications this weekend? It's a daunting fact but it's inevitably true. The reality is that we're all grown up and we're on the road to becoming independent individuals. To me this is a cantankerous reality. Personally  I don't think I'm ready to face the world on my own and i'm trying to avert and evade any ideas of this until I graduate high school. Sadly, reality hit me in the face when it was time to fill out the UPR application.That's when i realized that my years of goofing off have come to an end. Honestly growing up has always been a phobia of mine because deep down inside I'm just a little kid. Luckily, slowly but surely I've engaged on the fact that next year, by this time, I'll be studying for mid-terms or preparing for a big oral presentation. Regardless of this I still feel fearful about the whole college process and I wish that my high school years would never end. In the mean time i'll just cherish and enjoy all the moments I'll have with my friends until "the big day" comes.                                                                                                                                                                

DIYB; Do It Yourself Boo: Studying for Math Class

Don't you just hate it when, no matter how much you pay attention in class you STILL don't understand what the teacher's saying? Truth is that, sometimes, it doesn't matter how good the teacher is you still don't comprehend what he/she is attempting to explain. This is mostly why students,like myself, ponder upon the fact that they have to study for class. This happens to me a lot when it comes to studying for my Calculus class.Don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to be impertinent towards my educator but personally i don't feel as if I'm learning from his abstruse way of teaching.This is why,in class, I act with an air of pretense, as if I understood everything he's saying,which is totally fantastic  As a result of this dilemma i have developed a simple step-by-step program for myself and other students who share my situation. 

Studying for Math Class:

First Step: Take notes in class. Always write down the topics of whatever the teacher is trying to explain.

Second Step: Be dauntless. Don't be afraid of asking the teacher about the topic. This is so you have an idea of how it's supposed to be done.

Third Step: When you get home from school, RELAX, take your time and THEN start studying. This will help you clear your mind thus improving your level of comprehension.

Fourth Step: Get on the computer and go DIRECTLY to YouTube

Fifth Step (most important step): FOCUS, don't waste your valuable time on FACEBOOK

Sixth Step: In YouTube, search for videos of the topics you were given.

Seventh Step: WATCH the videos carefully and take NOTES !

Eight Step: you're DONE. Now, the next day in class you can be braggart and show everyone how you understand everything :D.

Now that you know the material don't be courteous enough to help out any other of your classmates who is having the same problem.

Test and tired

Honestly it's innevitable to feel tired when you go to shool it University gardens highschool. It's ridiculous how some teachers have such a high level of negligence. sometimes I think that the amount of homework that teacher assign is ilogical and unnecessary. Sometimes they even ask us to inscribe in our test aspects that we don't knwo about. As a result o this we are forced to do some oh-so-famous improvisation. Even though this is typical in us teenagers It is imposible to avert improvisation in a test were you barely know any of the material. Although, even if we do or do not improvise at the last minute we can contemplate on the fact that this could mItigate and shrew our grade.

McDonald's vs. Burger King

There a lot of differences and similarities between the two most popular and visited fast food services in America, McDonald's & Burger King. Between the many differences that have both of these establishments, these are some: In occasions McDonald's employees are more affable than Burger King workers who tend to be irksome and bitter. Not to mention that the physiognomy of the McDonald's restaurants is much more appealing than the Burger King establishments, and how could people forget to mention the superlative difference between the food served at the establishments. Even though they're both burger joints, Mickie D's and BK's food is very different. Although they are very distinct from one another they also have a few similarities. Immediately we think about the fact that both serve the same types of food, burgers, fries & sodas & how they both are known world-wide for their food. Another thing they have in common is how they hire just about anybody, even tyros. These are some of the many similarities and differences that these two companies have.

Cause and Effect

Every action executed in life has a result or a consequence. Sometime people realize actions without fear of the consequence or without thinking about what could happen to the environment or the people that live in it. A good example of cause and effect now-a-days is how people constantly have lights on in their houses without even needing them. The point is that in most parts of this world humans are leaving unnecessary lights on and this contaminates the night sky. Light pollution is and action that people have been doing for some time now and it has been affecting out sky greatly during nocturnal hours. Because of so many lights being turned on at the same time the brightness isn't permitting the stars to shine. This affects humans because their actions are depriving themselves of seeing the beautiful aspects of the nocturnal sky.

My grandfather was a great man. It's such a shame he had to leave us and pass on to another life. I know he's in a better place, but sometimes, still, i miss him and i  reminisce on the good times we had together.Sometimes i wish i could talk to him, and tell him all the things i didn't have the courage to say while he was with us. I know he might not be with us physically but he is inside our hearts and our minds, and he will never be forgotten.

me:  "'Sión papá" how's it like up there with the Big Guy?

papá: Life's very good up here mija..everything's different but, i've gotten used to it.

me: how is everything so different from here? can you tell me how it is up there?

papá: sure mija, it's wonderful up here, everyone's nice and pleasant. Everything's  painted white & lined with gold accents... just like in the movies..

me: WOW! it seems like it's really beautiful up there papá! i wish I could be there with you... i miss your astute sense of humor and your perspicacious knowledge of things...why'd you have to leave us down here?

papá: times change Miriannie. God called me and i answered to his call. He said to me "Julio, it's time to pass on to new life" and i followed his orders. Enjoy your time on Earth. Enjoy every moment you have with your family because you never know when your time might come.. i was caught off guard with  very serious illness and my health went deteriorating little by little. 

me: you know papá.. everytime you're brought up in a conversation my eyes well up with tears.

papá: and why is that my dear?

me: i don't know, i think it's because there were so many things i wanted to tell you about while you were alive, but sadly, i never got the chance to say them..

papá: what is it you wanted to tell me Miriannie?

me: i don't know papá... i just wanted to tell you so much about my plans in life, what i wanted for my future and how i was going to include you and the rest of my family in them...

papá: well you can still tell me all those things mija, i'm with you everyday and every hour. The Big Guy assigned me and your grandmother as your guardian angels. That means that anytime you think you have to say something to me or to us, just sit calmly and talk to us.

me: that's nice to know grandpa, you have no idea how comforted that makes me feel.. oh! and by the way, i didn't know you met up with mamá up there :)

papá: why yes! yes i did honey. She was the first person to greet me when i got here, right after God. Oh Miriannie, you have no idea how happy I am to be up here with her...

me: does that me you don't miss us papá?

papá: NO! not at all mija, I miss you all dearly but, up here is better than down there. Don't get me wrong, i love my little Island Puerto Rico but the life i was living while I was there with your step-grandmother wasn't the best..

me: she's nothing of mine, not my step nothing! i don't like her and i never will..

papá: now Miriannie don't say that, you know when you first met her she was very nice to you and your family.

me: i don't care papá, i'll never forgive her for that she did to you, she practicably left you ther to die -.-' 

papá:don't live with spite in your heart mija, if i forgave her you sold do the same..

me: i'll only forgive her because of you papá...because i love you

papá: i love you too mija. I have to go now, there's some work to be done and your grandmother is looking for me. Remember what i told you, all you have to do is sit calmly and talk, even if i don't respond i'll be there lsitening. I love you and be safe & "Dios me la bendiga & me la favoresca mija"

Out of Place..

What would my life be like if I lived in another time period? It most certainly would be something completely different to what I'm used to. If I had to choose any time period to live in I would definitely choose the famous and glamorous 80's. The 80's are a unique period in time in which people expressed themselves through dance and the oh-so famous disco music. People in this era had very unique styles. Everyone walked around in the streets with whatever they wanted to wear. The Afros, bell bottoms, & the superlative and eccentric platform shoes identified most people in this era.These are some of the things that make me have an odd fascination with the period. I feel completely identified with this era & their music and fashion because spite the racial issues that were present in the era people still kept their own identity.

Hands down, I'm too proud for love...

Music is a way for people to express themselves. It can express any emotion possible and it can make you feel them too. Everyone has different types of musical taste, it just depends on the person and their personality. I'm a very complex individual & i like weir things sort of say. My musical interest can vary from hip-hop, rock, jazz, electronic, dubstep etc. I guess people would say that my taste in music is very different form theirs just because i like a little bit of everything.

Everyone has a favorite song. In my case I have more than just "ONE" favorite song. But, at the moment I do have a song that I like very very much. It's titled "a little bit" & it's sung by my all time favorite rapper, Drake and featuring Lyyke Li. The song is everything I'm not in person. It describes me and my true inner feelings.  It's about a relationship and a person who was in a relationship. The person is basically trying to forget their  ex-significant other but deep inside their heart that person is still in love with him/her. The song also mentions some examples of things that person would do for the one they love. I guess this song describes my inner feelings just because i know that person who is trying to forget their loved one is going through because I've gone through it. I know I'm "just a kid" to some people, but like any other human being, I have fallen in love, & i do know how hard it is to forget that person you gave your heart to. That's why the song describes me so well.

How my life would be if i were a boy.

"If I were a boy,even just for a day, I'd roll out of be in the morning and throw on what I wanted and go" said Beyoncé in her famous song titled "If I were a boy". That part of the song says exactly what I would do during  mornings if I were  male. Reality is that my life as a boy would be pretty wild. It would be like this just to fit in the stereotype that "boys can do anything they want". The male species is too complex for my understanding, they do whatever they want whenever they want without fear of consequence and they think they can control everything women do just because of their sex.

Chaos is brewing.

There's a storm attacking my little island. Her name is Irene. It's been affecting it for some time now and quite frankly I'm starting to get very annoyed with this atmospheric phenomenon. First it started out chill, like any other storm, lots of rain, but then things got ugly, fast. The power went out for millions of people in Puerto Rico & so did the water. That's when I really got pissed (-.-). No power means no entertainment, no TV, no internet, no cellphones, I couldn't even draw because I had NO LIGHTING at all. The nicest thing about not having any power is when you realize you have an electrical stove and you can't cook. Irene can mess with ANYTHING in my life EXCEPT with my food and my water. Did i mention she took my water too? Indeed she did. I was so happy when I found out I had to shower with a bucket, a plastic cup and some cold-ass water. That just made my day. On the bright side Irene did save from two days of school, maybe that's the only reason why I like her, nothing else. Although she saved me from two days of class I'm really starting to get bored at my house, so I want her to go away! Shes brought  nothing but chaos to the island. Rain, lightning, thunder, flash floods, blackouts, tornadoes,earthquakes, lions and tigers and bears OH MY! Okay, maybe not that last part. My point is... Irene needs to leave..like... NOW. 

About a Girl.

I'm going to tell you the story of a girl. Her full name is  Miriannie Rivera Valerio but everyone just calls her "Pelua". She's a girl who enjoys the simple pleasures in life, someone who doesn't care what others think of her, someone who likes to be herself. She was born in the Dominican Republic and she is very proud to say she's from there. I guess that's one of the things that makes her unique. Another thing that makes her stand out is her personality, she's very spontaneous, very eccentric ,thoughtful, careful but at the same time careless.  She cares a lot about others,sometimes even more than she cares about herself. She's careless because, like i mentioned before, she doesn't care about what others think of her. Miriannie enjoys life, she lives it to the fullest. She loves herself, a lot...maybe a little bit too much sometimes I would say. Even though she loves herself a lot, she loves her family and her friends even more although she doesn't show it to often. Shes not too demonstrative, her emotions are to be shared with no one but herself. This affects her sometimes and it causes her to "blow up". Her temper isn't all that good, but she knows how to control herself. She's loud and very expressive. She's simple but at the same time complex. She's just herself & everyone loves her just like that.
